A moment at sunset captured by photographer Laurence Norah as bats stream out of caves, forming a living plume over Khao Yai.
According to Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, approximately one million bats live on the edge of the park. Rising at night to feast on insects, these bats offer a form of biological pest control for surrounding farmland.
This incredible movement can be seen every evening for several hours as the sun sets.
Did you know? Bats make up a fifth of all known mammal species worldwide.
